We’re sending this issue to 66 subscribers, up from 45 for the first issue. We apologize for being late, but we’ve been traveling a bit.
We’ll try to publish by the 15th on odd-numbered months. Send your news, articles, info to reach us 15 days before publication date. Keep sending us names of owners who are interested. New owners (Horizons list) will receive the newsletter until they tell us to stop.
We’re parked for about four months in Buena Vista, Colorado, elevation 7950’. To the west, snow-capped Mt.Princeton (14000’) sparkles in the morning sun.
We are thinking about a directory of subscribers to Horizon Herald. Postal, email, telephone and web site addresses could be included.
Notify us if your do not want to be listed in any directory.
Horizons has graciously paid for the cost of the newsletter thus far, with plenty for the next issue.
Our time is not included. We’re trying to track time spent, but it’s a fluid statistic since number of subscribers, content, and editing process are everchanging. One idea: an amount per subscriber per issue, subject to periodic review.
For Escapees members; check out my article in the May/June magazine: Lessons Learned from Bonehead Blunders (Don McAnally)
We’ve been talking with Harold and Ken about having a rally this fall.
Can have rally at Milford Lake
State Park, near Junction City

everyone attending; provide a hog roast and maybe some entertainment

Exact dates; maybe three days?
Update, info from Horizons people
Ken said reps from suppliers
(Atwood, Dometic, etc.) might come if interest and attendance warrants
Forum on forming an Owner’s
Association
Ccommunication on road
Ownership experiences
Seasoned Rv'ers share
Using computers
Boondocking
Solar power
Backing 101
Comments and info about almost anything.
We could talk your ear off about
how much we love this 5W!
We took a 4 month trip in 17
states, Canada, Alaska; no problems with our trailer
The newsletter could be a forum
for owners to share experiences in solving a problem or finding a better way to
do something
Very interested in boondocking;
met some folks with wind generators and would like to know more
To save mailing costs, we would
be happy to receive the newsletter by e-mail
I can attempt to create a website
that will work in conjunction with the newsletter, for free (sounds like a good
idea and will follow-up, Ed., other comments?)
The most striking thing to us is
the quality of the New Horizons compared to other trailers we see
We've been New Horizons owners
for years, but rarely see one; would like to contact other owners (this a
frequent comment-good reason for a rally, right? Ed.)
Let us know what we can do to
help (3 messages). (Ed. note: help form Association)
We traded in our old trailer on a
NH. Enjoying and learning about our new unit. We may wear out before it does.
Ten years will probably be enough
Michael Erb sent a copy of the schedule he uses. He created it from service manuals and other publications. As a not-very-handy type, I appreciate such a check-off list. Now I have to do it.
