MorRyde Maintenance

I am sending you folks a zipped copy of the MOR/ryde Owners Manual and the MOR/ryde Service Manual. A week ago, Mrs. T noticed that the left front tire on our year-old New Horizon fifth wheel (#546) was showing extensive wear. I got to looking at it and decided I needed to put the spare on before we took off to Yellowstone via Jackson Hole. On this trip I looked through the mass of material we got about NuWaNot's systems and found nothing about the MOR/ryde suspension system.

When we got back, I took NuWaNot to a local RV alignment shop. They told me that the problem was bent axle tubes and it would be expensive to fix. They also solemnly told me that MOR/ryde suspension could not be aligned. This made no sense to me so I got hold of Ken and started looking at the MOR/ryde Web Site. It is clear that the MOR/ryde system I have can be aligned. Ken told me that he had been trying for some time to get MOR/ryde to give him an owners manual to put in the owner's packets but that they had yet to do so. He got in touch with Jack at MOR/ryde who listened to my story and was willing to e-mail .pdf files for the owner's and service manuals to me.

In my view, New Horizon owners with the MOR/ryde IS suspension system should carry a copy of these manuals in their camper. I took a copy of both manuals to the RV shop that I had gone to first. They took them but were "too busy to learn" today. Perhaps in the future they can help some hapless camper with MOR/ryde alignment problems. I think they are still embarrassed that they blew the first diagnosis. I also located a second alignment center with the capability to align big trailers. They also told me that MOR/ryde suspension systems could not be aligned. I gave them the copies and they are also studying them.

I really like the MOR/ryde system. The camper handles better than any fifth wheel we've owned. Since I think MOR/ryde is the standard system for New Horizons fifth wheels, I would like Nancy to condense what I've written here and put it in the next "Herald." Fred, I am hoping that you can put these on the Internet site to enable MOR/ryde suspension owners to print copies and carry with them in their travels.

Thanks for your consideration.
