Fiberglass Restoration

After nearly 6 years our New Horizon would no longer hold a shine between wax jobs and freshly applied wax would no longer buff off. The glass fibers were also exposed. I called Kemlite Company, the manufacturers of the Filon siding. The only thing they could recommend was painting the Filon. I then surfed the internet, using key word "fiberglass restoration," and found a product called Poli Glow that has been used in the marine industry since 1991.

The results on our New Horizon are amazing! Poli Glow is an acrylic product, not a wax, that is applied similar to a varnish. A comprehensive kit (Poli Prep, scrub pad, gloves, applicators and Poli Glow) is $54.95 and includes everything you need to truly bring back the shine and never wax again. An additional quart of Poli Glow is needed for RVs up to 32 feet and costs $36.95.

The Poli Prep easily and quickly removes years of wax and oxidation leaving your RV remarkably clean, but dull, and ready for the Poli Glow application. It takes 4 to 6 easily applied coats of Poli Glow to return your RV to like new, with no buffing required. From now on you'll just wash your RV with water and once a year apply a couple more coats of Poli Glow.

Thanks for posting Paul's Poli Glow information. It is working well for us and hopefully will work well for others. If you want to add a picture of the results you can grab it at http://www.roadtripamerica.com/tips/poliglow.htm. Phil said he would get some to have on hand for owners of the older rigs.
